About me

Dr. Sampath Rangasamy has over 20 years of experience as a researcher in neurological disorders and diabetic retinopathy. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Neurogenomics Division at the Translational Genomics Research Institute, he leads groundbreaking research in genetic and molecular mechanisms of neurological disorders.
With expertise in neuroscience research and molecular biology, Dr. Rangasamy has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and secured significant research funding, including an NIH R01 grant. His career encompasses important discoveries related to FGF12 copy number variants in epileptic encephalopathy and nuclease-free genome editing for MECP2 mutations in Rett syndrome.
He holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Microbiology, and a Master’s in Applied Microbiology from Bharathidasan University. Beyond his research achievements, Dr. Rangasamy contributes to education as a guest lecturer at Midwestern University and has mentored over 75 students throughout his career, while also holding two patents related to his innovative work.
